The story of Live Seafood

In 2015, Live Seafood started selling North Sea crab caught by the Keuter family’s own vessel, the UK146. These were small quantities and we were very dependent on the weather for our supply. Soon, we started working with various English vessels that are highly skilled in crab fishing and can always be at sea, regardless of the weather conditions. This allowed Live Seafood to grow and also start exporting to China.

Now, 10 years later, Live Seafood is located in a beautiful building with ample storage capacity for crab, and we continue to grow every year in terms of turnover and storage capacity.

A family business on the move

What started as a one-man business has grown into a family business where both mother Anja and sons Albert and Dirk work. The UK146 is manned by father Bertus and youngest son Johan and has returned to its first love, fishing for eel and scale fish on the IJsselmeer.

In addition to the stable supply of North Sea crab, which can be delivered year-round, Live Seafood also trades in Canadian lobster, European lobster, Norwegian king crab, mitten crab and, in season, crayfish. We can keep all these species alive and therefore send them to the customer alive. We also sell a fair amount of salmon fillet when it comes to fresh fish. We offer a nice range of products, specialising in brown North Sea crab and exports to China.
